I think about JJ, the dog that lived on Degraw. He brought joy to our hood and to my girls. They would pet him when we were taking a walk and he reminds me of the time when I was with them more. But we won't get into that right now. There is no sense in looking back. I keep writing. Songs. But like JJ the dog, all things must pass. And once you realize this, it can put the little things in life in perspective. Work. Marriage. Kids. The city. It's all so much. We take on a lot in our lives. We want a lot. We expect a lot. Maybe we should expect less. And want less. And give more. Maybe than we would find the things that were missing.
