and the thunder sounds like canons
and the streets are sheets of water
but this is just another night
another storm for the locals
but for me it's more
it's everything and nothing
nothing in that it's out of my control
everything in that it's all we have
but the damage has been done
and the conversations get more heated
and people flock to what they know
and progress is forgotten
and everything we stand for is forgotten
but all is not lost
because we are still here
so when the storm and thunder pass and the water subsides
who will we be then?
