exile in guyville

you could hear the #suburbs in the voice of the #indie goddess who you were sure you slept with in high school (you think you've slept with everyone)…..but liz…..man….she could leave you tongue tied…and this record was part of a defining moment in our lives…because i know there are folks out there that connected with this record like me just from a post earlier on #socialmedia…..a moment in which love and the possibility of something new was real…..until track #17….#stratford-on-guy…..it reminds me of a break up…..a relationship never meant to be…& the word stratford is significant  because it was the first street I lived on in #america when i moved from #canada…in a duplex in the suburbs of milwaukee in the great state of #wi……but at #university we studied #exileinguyville & there was an understanding between people who got the record… it was like our secret world of openminded cool folk looking to change the world….not a bad place to be….dz
