The first 3 months with a newborn are intense to say the least. Especially if she's number 2. Your not sleeping and you've got this new being in your living room who you feel your unable to comfort especially if your the father. Well, I've been in your shoes before and I'm in them now. Even though Harper is an easy baby (I referred to her as an "Angel" baby in a previous post), she is still not sleeping through the night. Our doctor says that babies start to sleep through the night around 3-4 months. She's 2 months old and he told us that it was a little early for us to let her "cry it out" for an extended period of time. We give her about 5 minutes if she's crying to make sure that she's not just making noises in her sleep.
If you are trying to get your baby on a schedule, here's a few things you can do: Start repeating activities with baby such as giving baby a bath before bed. Babies like repetition. Don't let baby nap past 6 pm. Start to distinguish night and day with baby and always: Stay calm. Stay chilled. Stay healthy. And stay happy. You're almost out of the woods :)
