1 for randomness

it's like we are all just passing through each other's lives. a women, an art teacher on her way to indy talking to a banker from philly talking to a music teacher from chicago talking to me. all stuck @ an airport sharing a conversation over a few beers. this might be the last place left in america where you can have random conversations w random folk, I showed them my wounds from my go carting burn I got in Indy and we talked about life: kids, dreams, money. it felt real, in a way, more revealing than interacting w friends on fb because people are usually more honest with strangers. now I'm on the plane back to nyc and everyone is back into their own worlds w their own conversations on their iPhones (like myself)& books (I'm reading malcolm gladwell's tipping point which I realize is 9 years old but better now than never, as my wife says, I'm a day late and a dollar short). the point of this here blog post you may ask? I miss the randomness in life and social networking is a place where we converse mostly with who we know, even twitter, so here's to some more randomness in our lives, next time your stuck @ the airport, don't sit on fb and check all your friends status updates, sit @ the bar, get a beer and turn to the girl sitting next to you and ask her, what part of russia are u from? dz
