it's a reference to a citizen king song from back in the 90's….I grew up with those guys, even playing in a band with lead singer matt simms in high school at some point…but that was long ago….in a different place…in a different time….but, that line "#iveseenbetterdays just sticks right now…..
my battery is dying….nothing stays the same…the only constant in life is change…the only constant in life is reality….your dreams may not real…..your dreams may not be yours…..you want to know what is real? the post office and taxes and your job and the irs and hmo's and insurance….that's reality….that's the only reality we know….the constant pursuit of survival….constantly fighting….fighting for a job….fighting for a promotion…fighting for another shot….fighting for a parking spot….we are constantly fighting in this life…..sometimes, the fight gets tiresome…sometimes, you just want to chill…and sit back….and not engage….and just listen….to the earth….and the trees….and the animals….and listen to what they have to say….bc a lot of people on this earth have no idea what they are talking about….and the more they have no idea about what they are talking about, the more people listen to them….that's the problem….our mentors…our idols….our so called "icons", lately seem to have little to say….about anything other than themselves…they are looking out for their legacy….carefully crafting it like a job resume….but that makes for boring memoirs….who wants to hear a list of your accomplishments….this is not to negate folks, or slam folks for trying something different, something new….but sometimes….the fight is too much…too much energy is exerted….the benefits are limited if any…..I wish we could just quit the fight….I wish we could just be…..free…..free of stress and hassle…free of the things that bring us down….free of everything that does not bring us pleasure in life….now, i don't want this to come off sounding down….but it's ok to feel something dark….because you know the road is long and the only way is up…..here's some pics to remind me of the #goodtimes
