My wife didn't agree with my last post about staying "relevant" as parents. She thought that I came off as pretentious in assuming that I know what relevancy is.
Wife: "What are you comparing your relevancy to?"
Me: "Parents who become boring and stop caring about anything unrelated to their kids."
Wife: "It's not about relevancy but it's about staying true to yourself and who you were before you became a parent."
Me: "But what if you weren't relevant before you had kids?"
I assume a lot of my readers are like me. Creative types who are embracing parenting with a different view. And I'm not here to judge anyone, to each his own when it comes to raising a family, it's not an easy job. All I'm saying is that for me, I want to stay related to the world I know. Because that's who I am. And that's apart of me. And it's apart of me that I want to pass on to my children.
