the art of staying relevant as parents

The common assumption about parents as a whole is that they start getting boring and stop caring about music, art and film because they'd rather be with their kids at a Dan Zanes concert.  But just because you have kids doesn't mean you can't stay edgy.

You decide how you want to influence your child.  Dylan likes Joy Division.  Harper likes Sonic Youth.  But that's not the point of this post.  To stay relevant is to stay edgy in your tastes of music, art and film.  (Katy Perry is my guilty pleasure, sorry Renny).  Staying relevant is to go see Arcade Fire live and realize that the fire still burns in you.
