When life gets "serious" life gets boring. "So and so" is really focused on their __ right now so their not really into hanging out. "So and so" is trying to get serious about life. What does that mean?? Life is always serious. The reality is is that we are constantly reminded of the seriousness of life. Look around us. We are defined by our careers (especially in this country) and everything becomes work (including family) and we forget to be happy. Getting serious means your getting boring. You stop returning calls and you become isolated in your own world. For what?? I get it. Not everyone can be everything to everyone (I'm so 90's) . But I was one of the only Dads to dress up for Halloween in my neighborhood. So please, don't call me serious.
