what this girl knows about technology

My wife and I call Dylan "War Games" when she puts on her headphones and gets on the iPad. When I was a kid, I would watch music videos and put my tape recorder up to the TV and record the audio.  That was the late eighties. That was before I had a tape of The Replacements "Please To Meet Me".  Times have changed.   I watched a story on TV this morning about how more Americans than ever are living alone.  Technology has made it easier for us to live independently. Technology has also made it easier to ignore the ones around us.  Or maybe it's the fact that there are just too many ways to contact each other because of technology.  We feel so inundated by texts and emails that we just shut everything and everybody out.  When was the last time you were happy to hear your phone ring?  Just another person trying to get in your space right? It's never the call you want to get anyways.  You need a break from people?  Tell me about it. But I wonder if it's all just too much. People on their cell phones walking down the street or at the park just ignoring their children. Their spouses.  We might as well all just live alone.  At least we'd get more sleep.
