gone too soon

when i first moved to the east village, the legend of jeff buckley was in full effect…..if you were a singer songwriter starting out, you knew his story and his music and a lot of singers incorporated his vocal style. when i found out he had passed away at the age of 30,  I felt heart broken. it was like losing a long lost friend you felt like you knew for so long but had never met.

before i was married, i remember taking acid with a girl in chapel hill north carolina and listening to the record xo at a bar and totally falling in love. with the record and with the girl. with the moment.  songs like independence day and alameda stream on my rdio. my friend was working with elliott before he passed.  i think about him a lot.  another one.  gone too soon.
