babies and the new "hipster identity"

It's the year when men carrying babies down the street in ergos outnumber women doing the same. It's like, suddenly cool to have kids.  It's as if babies are the new "hipster identity".  You see them on TV shows like "Girls" and on "NBC".  You see them in films like "This is 40". You see them with actors like "Paul Rudd". Babies are now cool. Because babies don't care.  Because babies are oblivious to the attention they get. But enough about babies.  Let's talk about what this means for men.  Because for men, this is unchartered terrain.  For men,  this new role, this new identity, this "hipster identity" is treading on the unknown.  And it's undefined.  And it's path is filled with possibilities. And if you can't get hip with it, than you're living in the past.
