The city that care forgot, is the city that I can't forget. Because there aren't many places left like New Orleans. Mostly people have settled on vanilla and that's the flavor of choice for many Americans. But here in the big easy, things are different. Music fills the air and the streets are full of artists and poets and magicians and the world down here moves to a different beat. And the kiddies are entertained and it's 70 degrees and the possibilities are endless. It's definitely an inspiring place to be. I've always wanted to make a record down here and live for awhile. But this is a family trip so my days and nights are taken up with social engagements. And last night we went to a restaurant called Annunciation. And all the men were dressed in ties and suits and the vibe was old school southern. But it was all good. Because the babies were troopers and I had turtle soup and shrimp étouffée. A meal, a trip and a city that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.
