My Epiphiny: Our Generation

I had an epiphany after watching the Frontline Special on Madoff available to watch instantly: www.netflix.com We have watched the downfall of our economy because of the interest's of a greedy few that not only run Wall Street but run America. We have a chance to learn from past generations like the boomers who could dream of a better future in the early sixties and that dream was shattered by the 70's and by the eighties greed/power replaced peace/happiness/understanding as the American dream. And money was controlled by even less hands and as we all know now, this doesn't work.  Because as we know as American's more does not make us better or smarter or more secure or less likely to be a target.  But "they" called us: slackers and lazy and now we have a chance to rewrite our own history.  We have a chance to show ourselves and the world that as young Americans we believe in truth and equality and we were the first generation with real intergrated lives so WE can really demonstrate the kindness there is between our different cultures.  I see this in my community in BROOKLYN www.brooklyn.com I hope this feeling exists in your community and if it doesn't, be an example of someone with tolerance and respect for all people and ages.  We have become cynical, but if we can put more of our energy into creating positive things like art and music and dance and culture and acceptance than our society can only get better.  Our lives can only get better.  If you are with me my brothers and sisters, please comment :)

Peace,
DZ
